What We're Looking For

We’re looking for positive individuals who enjoy helping others and want to contribute to a friendly student community. Previous moderation experience is helpful but isn’t essential for every role. We value maturity, reliability, good judgement and the ability to communicate respectfully with members from different backgrounds.

 Moderator 🛡️

Moderators are the first point of contact for maintaining a friendly and respectful community. They help ensure conversations remain welcoming, answer basic questions and assist with enforcing the community rules.

✅ Responsibilities

  • Welcome new members.
  • Monitor chat rooms and discussions.
  • Enforce the StudentUK Community Rules.
  • Help members with basic questions.
  • Report serious issues to senior staff.
  • Encourage respectful conversations.

✔ Requirements

  • Friendly, mature and respectful attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Active member of the StudentUK community.
  • Able to remain calm and fair when resolving disputes.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.

Admin ⚡

Admins provide additional support by supervising moderators, resolving more complex issues and helping manage the day-to-day operation of the StudentUK community.

✅ Responsibilities

  • Support and guide moderators.
  • Review reports and appeals.
  • Resolve member disputes.
  • Help improve community guidelines.
  • Assist with community events and announcements.

✔ Requirements

  • Previous moderation experience preferred.
  • Good judgement and leadership skills.
  • Professional communication.
  • Strong understanding of the StudentUK community.
  • Reliable and responsible.

Super Admin 👑

Super Admins oversee moderation across the StudentUK platform and work closely with the site owners to improve the community, introduce new features and maintain high moderation standards.

  • Manage moderators and admins.
  • Review complex reports.
  • Update community policies.
  • Improve moderation systems.
  • Support the long-term growth of StudentUK.

Community Standards

All StudentUK staff members are expected to lead by example, treat every member fairly, follow the community rules and maintain a professional attitude while representing the StudentUK community. Staff privileges are earned through trust, activity and commitment, and may be reviewed if community standards are not maintained.

FAQs About Staff Positions ❓

Is this a paid position?

Most StudentUK moderation roles are voluntary community positions.

How old do I need to be?

Moderators must be at least 16 years old. Admin roles usually require additional experience.

Do I need prior experience to apply?

No. While experience is beneficial for senior roles, enthusiasm, maturity and a positive attitude are equally important.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes. You may apply for any role you feel matches your experience and abilities.

How long does the application process take?

Applications are reviewed regularly. If your application is successful, a member of the StudentUK team will contact you with the next steps.
